Dan hails from Nashville with his own take on country. He combines his fascination with the traditions of the genre with the soft, passionate singing traditions he grew up with: church gospel and soulful R&B. His career really took off when he moved to Nashville and started working with award-winning producer Keith Stegall.
Ashley McBryde (Grammy nominated album “Never Will”) Trace Adkins, Ray Fultcher, Randall King, Makayla Lynn, Dillon Carmichael are just some of those who have included Smalley co-writes on their current album releases.
He released his debut EP IF I’M BEING HONEST in spring ’21 and has already shared a poster with stars like Ashley McBryde and Willie Nelson. Dan delivers soulful songs – and honest confessions from an already troubled life. Smalley’s new album The State Of Country Music was released in March this year and Dan celebrated with a sold-out European tour and a magical concert at Heartland Festival.
