With a mother who performed with John Hartford and the Dillards, a dad who taught her banjo, and a cousin, Al Barr, who fronts the Dropkick Murphys, being on stage is in Lockwood’s DNA.    She is a banjo rocker with a touch of twang.  This past December 2021, Lockwood Barr had the #1 video on CMT with her Christmas duet “Christmas in Memphis,” featuring hit Sea Gayle writer, Barrett Baber.  Lockwood has toured all over the U.S., opening for artists and writers like Lori McKenna and Angaleena Presley (Pistol Annies), playing in festivals from Arizona to Mississippi to Key Largo, and she regularly hosts rounds at the Bluebird Cafe.  Other successes include her performing the #12 show on Pollstar’s Top Live-streamed shows of 2020 with 58,700 views, landing the 2019 Music Row Magazine “DISClaimer” feature for her banjo-centric single “6 Feet Deep,” winning a NIMA (Nashville Industry Music Award) for Best Live Country Performer, and a having a cut (“Hold Me in Your Heart”) on Sarah Peacock’s new 2020 record “Burn the Witch,” which has been acclaimed in Billboard. Lockwood’s Summer 2020 single, “Helluva Habit,” received an exclusive feature in American Songwriter Magazine magazine, and also spent 5 weeks on the ACM’s New Music Playlist alongside Willie Nelson and The Chicks.  Her latest endeavor is the creation of her new trio, Sequoia South, with new music planned for the end of 2022.  Lockwood Barr couldn’t be more excited to return to the incredible country of Denmark.
