Nashville Nights is proud to celebrate Lee Thomas Miller

Today, we’re feeling a little extra proud here at Nashville Nights.

One of the songwriters we’ve had the great pleasure of welcoming to our festival over the years has just been selected for one of the highest honors in the world of country music: the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. The prestigious Hall of Fame has announced its Class of 2026, and among the five new inductees is someone very special to us: Lee Thomas Miller.

And if you’ve been part of Nashville Nights, you may already understand why this one means a little extra to us.

The man behind some of country music’s greatest stories

Lee Thomas Miller is the songwriter behind songs like In Color by Jamey Johnson and You’re Gonna Miss This by Trace Adkins – songs that have earned major awards and, more importantly, found a special place in the hearts of country music fans around the world. He has also written songs including Whiskey and You by Chris Stapleton, It Ain’t My Fault by Brothers Osborne and It Matters To Her by Scotty McCreery.

But Lee Thomas Miller is so much more than an impressive list of credits.

It’s his ability to tell the kind of stories we recognize in our own lives. Stories about family, growing older, the big moments – and all those little moments we don’t realize matter until they’re gone. That is exactly the kind of songwriting we love at Nashville Nights.

Lee grew up on a small tobacco farm in Kentucky and moved to Nashville in 1991. Since then, he has built a remarkable career as one of Music City’s respected songwriters, with major country hits and multiple Grammy nominations to his name.

And then there’s the part that means the most to us:

Lee is part of the Nashville Nights family.

We’ve had the privilege of experiencing his warmth, humor, stories and incredible songwriting up close – and he is a living example of the Nashville songwriting tradition that lies at the very heart of our festival.

So today, we simply want to say:

Congratulations, Lee. This honor is so well deserved – and we couldn’t be prouder of you.

A remarkable Class of 2026

Lee Thomas Miller joins four other remarkable names in this year’s Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame class.

Taylor Swift will be inducted as a contemporary songwriter/artist, becoming the youngest person ever inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Lyle Lovett joins the Hall as a veteran songwriter/artist, adding another chapter to a remarkable career spanning country, folk, blues and Americana.

Bruce Channel, the songwriter behind the iconic Hey! Baby!, will be inducted as a veteran songwriter.

And Shawn Camp, the acclaimed songwriter and fiddler, will be inducted as a contemporary songwriter. His credits include Two Piña Coladas by Garth Brooks and How Long Gone by Brooks & Dunn.

The five new inductees will officially be celebrated at the invitation-only 56th Anniversary Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame Gala later this year.

This is why we love Nashville

To us, Nashville isn’t just about the big stages, the stars and the songs we all know.

It’s about the songs – and the people who write them.

And when a songwriter like Lee Thomas Miller, someone who has been such an important part of Nashville Nights over the years, earns a place among the very best at the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, it’s a moment worth stopping to celebrate.

Congratulations, Lee. We can’t wait to celebrate you at Nashville Nights Festival in Odense, September 11–13, 2026 – and to share many more songs, stories and Nashville moments together.
