The Funen-based trio, Henrik Johannessen & the Roots, released their critically acclaimed debut album, ‘Farm Sessions’, two years ago, delivering what they call “handmade music.”
HJ&Roots is a powerful acoustic trio that, with their well-crafted Americana-inspired songs and traditional roots instruments, creates a phenomenal sound that transports the audience straight to Nashville! In 2022, the trio was nominated for the “Out of the Blue” award at the Danish Music Awards Blues and won the “Acoustical Performance of the Year” award at the international Texas Sounds festival in the USA. HJ&Roots is currently working on their next album, and audiences can look forward to being introduced to more new songs as the trio embarks on their fifth tour of Denmark in 2025.
HJ&Roots showcase their multi-instrumental talents with every note, incorporating guitar, double bass, banjo, mandolin, lap steel, dobro guitar, and even an old leather suitcase repurposed as a bass drum throughout their performances.
