Poul Krebs (DK)

Show: TBA

For this unique concert at the Nashville Nights Festival, three of Denmark’s most acclaimed songwriters — Poul Krebs, Rikke Thomsen, and Signe Svendsen — pay tribute to the songs that first sparked their passion for music and share the stories behind their own greatest hits.

An afternoon filled with intimacy, heartfelt interpretations, and a deep love for the craft, hosted by Jesper Nyborg (P4 and P5) and accompanied by an always outstanding band featuring Troels Skjærbæk, Palle Hjort, and Casper Simonsen.

Just as Mozart found inspiration in Bach, The Beatles in Buddy Holly, and Bruce Springsteen in Bob Dylan and Roy Orbison, songwriters throughout history have built upon the music and ideas of those who came before them. This ongoing musical cycle is celebrated in “The Songs That Wrote Us” — a special concert experience where three of the country’s finest songwriters each present a selection of songs that have shaped them as artists, inspired their songwriting, and ultimately led to the creation of some of their biggest and most significant hits.

The songs are performed in new, personal interpretations — each accompanied by the story behind it. What was it about this particular song that touched them? How did it leave its mark on their artistic journey? And how can that inspiration still be heard in the songs they have written over the years — songs that, for some, have become beloved, iconic hits.

Audiences can look forward to touching, funny, and surprising stories about how inspiration sometimes strikes like lightning — and other times flows quietly, changing direction along the way.
