Blue Foley (USA)

No one does it quite like Blue Foley, one of Nashville’s most beloved and respected songwriters. His reputation and relationships led him to co-founding the Nashville Nights International Songwriters Festival with Danish songwriter, Stefan Mork. This annual event began in Denmark in 2021 as a three-day festival with over 70 songwriters coming together from all around the world for fans to experience the talent of Nashville, including Tyler Reeve, Eric Paslay, Bridgette Tatum, Cheley Tackett and Tim Nichols in the inaugural year. The lineup for 2022 already boasts Bobby Binson, Tony Arata, Barrett Baber, Jamie Floyd and Texas Hill with more singer-songwriters being announced in April.

One of Blue’s favorite songwriters to collaborate with is Ashley McBryde. In 2020, Blue was nominated for his second Grammy for Ashley’s Never Will Album, writing the title track, Never Will.  In 2019 Blue received two Grammy nominations for co-writing two songs (“Tired of Being Happy”, “Sweet Home Highway”) on Ashley’s Grammy-nominated Country Album of The Year, Girl Going Nowhere. Each of those albums were also up for ACM & CMA Album of the Year respectively in 2019 and 2020.

In 2019, Blue was also nominated for Australia’s Golden Guitar Award for Best Traditional Country Album, co-writing the title track, “Welcome To My Heart”, which was recorded by Angus Gill.

Blue was nominated for the 2015 Dove Awards Song of the Year with “God’s Will” recorded by Kali Rose. Blue’s first single, “There She Goes” on the album This is My Blood. was a Top 20 Hit in 2008 with his band The Dirt Drifters at Warner Bros. Records.

Blue has watched several artists perform his songs on the legendary Grand Ole Opry stage, including Pam Tillis and Chip Esten’s duet of “Don’t Cry Long”. He has over 100 independent and major label cuts, including “Died and Gone to Texas” (Craig Wayne Boyd, 2014 winner of The Voice) and “Don’t Cry Long” (Chip Esten, duet with Pam Tillis). Ashley McBryde also performed songs written with Blue on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel Live!
